Description

Replica of a Pre-Columbian ceramic figure from the Vera Cruz region of Mexico, dating roughly from 600-800 CE. These figures, often female, are known as “coast watchers”. They were possibly placed along the shoreline to watch for invaders. I carried this back from a trip to Cozumel, circa 1979.
